Royal Botanic Gardens Annual Report — 2020

Publication design for the Royal Botanic Gardens of Victoria 2019 annual report.

This brief asked for a functional, memorable and engaging redesign of the 2019 annual report for the Royal Botanic Gardens. Within a 32 page limit, I was asked to evoke a sense of place and purpose. Based on the organisation’s core values and mission statement, I chose to articulate three key themes: Life is sustained & enriched through nature; Nature as remarkable; Nature as sanctuary.

This publication highlights nature’s remarkable calmness and sanctuary, and reflects nature sustaining life through order and space to breathe. I painted a series of oil paintings depicting scenes from the botanic gardens, inviting the viewer to consider the remarkable beauty of nature.
